A Somerset man was arrested during a traffic stop conducted when police observed a child riding inside the vehicle unrestrained.
Pulaski Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Johnny Franks, when they noticed a child passenger was not wearing a seat belt or in a car seat or booster seat.
According to Sheriff Todd Wood, a large hunting knife was hidden in the driver’s door pocket of the vehicle.
Franks was arrested, charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and failure to use a child restraint. He was additionally charged with promoting contraband when a syringe and needle were found on his person as he was being booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center.
