Governor Steve Beshear, Wednesday, recognized the sacrifice of two Fort Campbell, Kentucky soldiers who died in Afghanistan bringing the number to seven Fort Campbell soldiers who have died in Afghanistan since Friday.
Sgt. Patrick K. Durham, age 24, and Spc. Andrew J. Castro, age 20, died August 28, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device.
The governor will order that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of each soldiers’ interment, for which arrangements are pending.
