     Governor Steve Beshear, Wednesday, recognized the sacrifice of two Fort Campbell, Kentucky soldiers who died in Afghanistan bringing the number to seven Fort Campbell soldiers who have died in Afghanistan since Friday. (more…)

Somerset Drug Round-Up

     Law enforcement officers were searching, Tuesday, for nearly 40 individuals accused of trafficking in drugs, as part of a round-up conducted by Somerset Police, Kentucky State Police and Operation UNITE.

     Acting Somerset Police Chief Major Doug Nelson said the department averages about 20 drug related arrests per week. In addition to those for whom warrants had been obtained, the department arrested two individuals on new drug charges, served two theft warrants and arrested a fugitive from the state of Florida.

     Operation UNITE detectives were searching for 18 individuals, of which 14 had been arrested by early afternoon.

     Ages of those arrested Tuesday ranged from 22 to 62.

Williams, Farmer to Run for Gov, Lt. Gov

Somerset Man Facing Charges After Traffic Stop
