Rogers Announces Funding for Kentucky Highlands, Black Lung Clinics

     Congressman Hal Rogers announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program approved a nearly $200,000 grant for the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation to develop a business incubator to provide training and technical assistance  to new and emerging businesses.

     Kentucky Highlands was formed in 1968 to stimulate growth and create employment opportunities in 22 southeastern Kentucky counties, including Bell, Clay, Harlan, Jackson, Knox, Laurel McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley.

     Congressman Rogers also announced more than $500,000 in grant funding to Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation to provide services to the coal mining population of eastern Kentucky impacted by Black Lung Disease and other respiratory problems.
